LA COUNTY FIRE SERVICE DAY
County of Los Angeles Fire Department fire stations will roll up their doors to the public in honor of Fire Service Month on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. This year, County firefighters celebrate 88 years of legendary service to local residents. Residents in cities and unincorporated communities served by L.A. County are invited to step inside the firefighting world and find out more about what firefighters do each day to save life, property and the environment. Firefighters will provide free blood pressure checks and station tours for all guests.
Regional Fire Service Day events are also scheduled to help celebrate the lifesaving mission of the L.A. County Fire Department. On May 14, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., the North Regional Operations Bureau will host its event at Los Angeles County Fire Station 129, 42110 6th Street West, in Lancaster. On May 21, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., the Central Regional Operations Bureau will host its event at Los Angeles County Fire Station 89, 29575 Canwood Street, in Agoura Hills. All events are free to the public, and will include entertainment, information booths, exciting firefighting equipment demonstrations and displays, and fun for the entire family.
